Chase Freedom $150 Signup Version
Written by David Long on December 24, 2010 – 6:58 amChase has four versions of the Freedom card now available. In situations like this, we like to put together tables to make your life easier!
The four versions of Freedom listed below all employ the same rewards program. You get 5% cash back on rotating categories throughout the year, and 1% back on everything else. More on this at bottom of this post.
We’ve made it simple for you by listing them all in the table below.
There are tradeoffs when it comes to intro APR periods vs sign up bonuses. Logically, you want to choose between the $100 sign up bonus Visa with a great 0% introductory APR, versus the $150 sign up bonus Visa with no introductory APR.
Choose the $100 bonus + introductory APR version if you carry a balance, or will potentially carry a balance. Otherwise, get the extra $50.
Can’t wrap your head around 5% rotating categories? The math is much simpler if you think about it as 2% back all year long in every bonus category, instead of 5% for one quarter and 1% for three quarters in each bonus category.
The latest list of rotating Chase Freedom 5% rewards categories for 2011 is the same for all cards.
Jan – Mar: Grocery and drug stores. Signup is open now. Apr – Jun: Home improvement, lawn & garden, and home furnishings. Jul – Sep: Gas, hotels, and airlines. Oct – Dec: Dining, department stores, movies, and charity.
